immediac partnered with a design agency to bring Yale University’s "For Humanity" campaign to life through an immersive online experience. This ambitious fundraising initiative, aimed at addressing global challenges and fostering positive change, demanded a digital environment that reflected both Yale's vision and its commitment to impactful engagement.
Our team set out to create an interactive virtual photobooth that would bring people together, no matter where they were joining from. Designed for both desktop and mobile, the photobooth made it easy for attendees to upload or snap a photo, remove the background, and personalize their image with a variety of frames and stickers. Every submission was moderated for safety before appearing in the public gallery, ensuring a positive and welcoming space for everyone. The result was a playful, creative hub where guests could share their presence and feel connected—even from afar.
To bring the virtual campus to life, immediac leveraged Vimeo’s 360 capabilities, paired with custom integrations using Vimeo’s API, to create an immersive, seamless video experience. Each video segment provided viewers with a panoramic perspective of Yale’s impactful projects, allowing them to explore distinct areas of the virtual campus as if they were there in person.
Built with accessibility in mind, we ensured every video was equipped with subtitles and accompanied by text-only transcriptions. Descriptive images were also provided to enhance storytelling for users relying on screen readers, enabling everyone to access the depth and significance of Yale’s initiatives.
To enhance navigation, we developed a side menu that displayed related videos for each section of the campus tour. This enabled users to explore multiple facets of the campus effortlessly, allowing them to experience the full breadth of Yale’s efforts in a streamlined, engaging way.
